I left my stripper heels at home

Pole dancing is freaking hard!! to defy gravity like that, and spin around like that. you count your life on your body's friction against the thin, steel cold pole. sweaty palms don't help, neither do lack of sleep or empty stomach.

had my first taste of pole dancing today, 3 hours later i felt like jelly. The instructor, she made it look too easy! i wouldn't say its painful, only the friction and rubbing against the pole hurts a little. I didnt expect bruises. but 2 hours later my thighs are now happily dotted with blues and blacks :) looks like some really cool looking infestation!

the pioneers of pole dancing are just unbelievable. Some people might shun pole dancing cause its slutty and the unforgettable link of strippers is there. It may have started out that way but them stripper heels now bring forth a whole new agenda.

be wowed by this! the unbelievable ladies of 2009 US Pole Dancing Championship.

I melt at their gracefulness and toughness at the same time, the upper body strength, the abs strength, the falling and climbing and spinning, the creativity, the choreography the flexibility, THE AWESOMENESS!! XD

I think pole dancing is absolutely beautiful. Beautiful in a way that proves to all the male chauvinists out there that every women can be strong, independent, with grace, beauty and a lil' bit of womanly sexiness at the same time! Pole dancing proves that all the ladies out there are intelligent beings and we do not need you to survive! Equality, man! i get insulted when guys say we cant do this or suck at that just cause we are girls and we have tiny brains. Well boo you. Every women should learn pole danicng and be empowered. Pole dancing is Empowerment that's what it is! One word to sum it all off: Girl power! To all you who have been stereotyping girls and making fun and looking down on us because we get period and you dont, well look at the video again, and be proved wrong. One thing i love about Pole dancing is it shows that women can do anything men can: politics, wrestling, basketball and well i question if a men can do anything women can. I would LOVE to see a guy pole dance like that one day.

stop with the female stereotype. feminism!

yes, that was the feminist in me talking. to all those that look down upon women, kiss my stripper pole.

"Pole dancing is like Oprah, empowering female everywhere."

all too Malaysian

here's something for all us Malaysians to be proud of!
Dated March 2009

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and first lady Michelle Obama present give away the Secretary of State's Award for International Women of Courage to Malaysia 's Ambiga Sreenevasan (Malaysian Bar Council) at the State Department in Washington , DC (AFP).

In celebration of International Women’s Day, the Department of State announces the recipients of the third annual Secretary of State’s Award for International Women of Courage. This is the only award within the Department of State that pays tribute to outstanding women leaders worldwide. It recognizes the courage and leadership shown as they struggle for social justice and human rights.

This year, the Secretary of State will pay tribute to honorees representing Afghanistan, Guatemala, Iraq, Malaysia, Niger, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Yemen. They are among over 80 exceptional women nominated by U.S. Embassies worldwide for their extraordinary work in advancing human rights. The women will be in Washington from March 8 – 12 for a program of meetings with government officials, NGOs and the media. The Office of International Visitors is partnering with the Office of International Women’s Issues on this project.

Ms. Ambiga Sreenevasan of Malaysia is an accomplished lawyer who became President of the Malaysian Bar Council, Ambiga Sreenevasan masterfully uses the rule of law to advance human rights, the status of women, and religious tolerance. In the face of death threats and intimidation, Ms. Ambiga has emerged as a strong voice of tolerance and justice.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Congratulations Ms Sreenevasan! Thank you for making the nation proud! I love it that you are representing Malaysia on stage in one of our traditional outfits that signifys your heritage and country.

but, is MALAYSIA really proud? Lets not argue why the proud news of this little Indian Lady being honored with such a prestigious and internationally recognized EPIC award is left unknown to the country. unknown. Where are the news coverage? should we not be proud that one of our people has made a difference in society? should we not acknowledge that Malaysia has once again made it to the international platform? why are we not allowed to learn about our achievements? why are the media silencing this? who is making the media hush hush about such an important event?

I know i would be super duper proud if i read this on the newspaper. i will be like yeah, Malaysia boleh! it would be like Nicol David winning the squash championship or that badminton guy getting the olympic silver. but no, apparently social justice and advancing human rights means nothing to this country. hmm..

and yet, the story of this Malay girl's failed (but courageous and honourable) attempt to cross the english channel made it to the front page of the news.

this is all to dejvu and all too Malaysian.

but lets not start this endless argue again shall we?

Lets be proud of Ambiga's Sreenevasan's achievement! Join me, and give three proud Malaysia Boleh cheers to Ms Sreenevasan!

*updated : an epic win for Malaysia sadly ignored. This is something too great not to be known, dont you think so? Lets be the proud Malaysian that we are and share this story, let it be known that we still have admirable and capable leaders with greatness to look up to. Share Ambiga's Sreenevasan's story on your blog!

im that bored

i have the day off, finally.
i have all this free time and i dont know what to do with it
i cant snowboard today coz its snowing like theres no tomorrow the colds a bitch and my knees just healed.

so i shall tell u a story,
titled :
I Can't Cook.

T'was a cold night
with winter being a bitch and giving everyone the cold
and this one person who was sick decided to come to work and pass on the bug
making everone sick
and making my brother feel like crap.........................

"Chicken Soup!" i said,
for it's not only for the soul,
it also cures cold.
thus i googled and searched through the jungle of websites
till i found the Golden recipe for Chicken Soup inside.
dice and slice the recipe proclaim,
it made chicken soup look like a simple game,
carrots and onion,
you wont get a bunion,
add chicken and garlic,
so yummy you'll lick,
but remember before and after,
to add some butter and water.
Butter and water,
water and butter,
not a good combination i realized after,
white smoke erupted,
turning into grey
and then the smoke alarm decided to play.
"Beep Beep! Beep Beep!" the smoke was detected,
"Quick open the door!" my brother shouted.
with books in hand we flapped our wings,
hoping the smoke alarm will stop to sing.
In time the alarm calm down,
and we stopped our frown,
until we heard the fire truck,
and our smile turned upside down.
"300 dollar fine" my brother gasped,
Oh Shit Oh Crap,
i cant have that!
We sat in silence our hearts beating fast,
hoping hunky firemen wont come and ask.
I continued to cook,
he did his youtube,
relieved that the firemen decided not to look.
T'was the night it was,
i burnt the food,
but in the end my chicken soup tasted yummy,
and good.

oh and i decapitated a whole chicken
it pee-ed blood on me.

im malaysian laaa

i was gonna wait till near 31st august to update this but what the hey? i shall do this now

"did you see the beijing olympics yesterday? its really awesome, after seeeing it you feel proud to be a chinese!"
"-___- ''' "
"really!"
"im Malaysian."

if you havent already notice, people like me, develops a passion in everything almost everything they are involved in. be it clubs, societies, CIMP, kwang hua, any organizations, hobby, classes i've been involved in! you name it, i've loved it. and that, involves my country.

yes people, i deeply love Malaysia. i love the people, the sun, the culture and ohh yes the FOOD!
i enjoy our heavy breakfasts and late night mamak, our indian and malay best friends, our rojak english that is a mixture of english, chinese, malay and tamil, the over excessive use of LAHS and the amount of off days we get because of all the diff celebrations! i mean its my birthplace, its where i wanna be burried when i die. i wont deny that we have our problems, but tell me, which country doesn't? and yes, maybe i do want to explore school and work in another country, but i will forever be Malaysian. i've been guilty of hating to learn sejarah and lamenting about this and that, but still its MY Malaysia.

i know we arent all that great and nice and all but we're still growing and learning aren't we? to those that never gave malaysia a chance and already start complaining, well its only your loss for being such a pessimist. i find it very disrespectful to hear obscene complaints, escpecially from outsiders about a country that you practically dont know anything off. Living stationary in one spot doesnt mean you have already experienced and know the whole of Malaysia. yes you have your opinions but be respectful wont you? ever heard of constructive criticisim? and it hurts to see people well, not liking their own country. i know you and i complain alot, its human nature, but at the end of the day we still say lah and i believe, are very malaysian at heart. ohh and to the people making fun of Malaysia about sports, we dont play crickets and football but we have badminton and squash. just google Nicole David :P

ohh my, i sound very patriotic dont i?
i do love malaysia.

and now, random pictures about well, Malaysia!! :D
just a lil something i did last minute for comtech class :)

i love going to pasar malams and enjoying road side food under the coloured umbrella while listening to music blasting from the CD peddler's stereo!

ahh.. as JJ and Rudy said, Malaysia is so awesome because we are the very few that have foods that serves as breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper : Nasi Lemak! *yumms*

whoever invented "IF YOU'RE A MALAYSIAN SAY LAH" is a genius!
i shall be LAH-ING all the way :D
*much luck and love to our olympics fighters out there!*

Happy 2008?

It was a breezy December evening, the stars hung high above the sky, occasionally winking at the people down below. Tom tagged along with his friends to attend a massive New Year countdown party. “Here we go guys!” the handsome presenter on stage shouted to the hundreds of peoples below with a note of eagerness in his voice. The massive crowd that looked like a sea of tiny black ants to his eyes roared energetically. “10! 9! 8! 7! 6! 5! 4! … ” The crowd of teens and premature adults shouted in unison with excitement. Tom, sandwiched between a lanky teenager in oversized clothes and a pretty young lady in Daisy Duke shorts chanted along with the crowd. The scent of flowery perfume and salty sweat perfumed his clothes; droplets of sweat rolled down this neck and stained the back of his white t-shirt.

“…3! 2! 1! Happy New Year!” immediately, the crowd broke out into frenzy, each person as excited as the other. Tom, who was happy to have stepped into year 2008 turned around to hug the pretty lady in mini shorts and the kid in oversized clothing, wishing them a very happy 2008. Just as the crowd started to wish both friends and strangers Happy New Year, a sudden loud bang shouted into their ears.

Bright flashes of red, green, yellow and blue painted the sky beautifully, shadowing the stars that initially lit the dark sky. Tom was mesmerized by the clever display of pyrotechniques. His eyes gazed absent-mindedly into the sky, the beautiful colours of the fireworks reflected in his eyes. The glaring rock music and incredibly loud firework beating against Tom’s ear drums did not seem to bother him as he watched the work of art in the sky. People all around him was also looking at the fireworks with “oohs” and “aahs” as one firework pattern followed the other. Some of them were just like Tom, hypnotized by the spectacular display; some had their sweaty palms against their ear; while others pointed their camera phones towards the sky.

When the last firework spark started to fall to the ground, a group of dancers in outrageous costumes popped out of nowhere and started to entertain the crowd. “Give it up for the Dance Kit dancers!” the handsome presenter addressed the crowd. The dancers started to dance to a music that reminded Tom of African tribal traditions. To his surprise, not only was the dance enjoyable, it was also comical, it left him and the crowd in stitches. The next dance number was a rather boring one. Tom was bobbing up and down on the ball of his feet to the rhythm of the music, but he couldn’t help being distracted by his own thoughts.

Flashes of his days in the past year ran across his eyes, Tom saw the sweet and sour moments of 2007, and couldn’t help but laugh at some of the ridiculous stuffs he had done. The dance was over now and the crowd started to evaporate. Tom reached his hands into his pockets and grabbed his car keys. Suddenly, his stomach made a great lurch and his heart sank to the bottom of his ribs as he remembered the awful mistakes he had done, feeling guilty and embarrassed at the same time. Tom was walking to his car and passed a group of girls who was giggling animatedly. Among the girls, he saw the pretty lady in the mini shorts again. She was wearing a neon purple party glasses that was shaped like the number ‘2008’. Looking at the ‘2008’ glasses, Tom was immediately reminded of the endless possibilities, and the world of new experiences, new lessons, new life that was in stored for him in the new year. Then, Tom whispered to himself in a husky voice that was only audible to himself, “Happy New Year, Tom. Let bygones be bygones. 2008 is your year. Let’s make it a great one.”

Tom then started his rusty car engine, pushed the pedal, and drove away from his parking spot.

-The End-
okay, reading harry potter helps :)
hugs n kisses :)

Punan Bah Lounghouse Donation Drive Final Update!

hey guys, quick update.

remember i said about my helping the cimp trek club punan bah longhouse charity donation drive (read:old post)? well, FINALLY WE ARE DONE and THE CLOTHES ARE SENT!! after one month of collecting, transporting, sorting and packing donated clothes, shoes, toys and what not, we have finally sealed the last of the boxes and have it sent to the Punan Bah villagers in Sarawak! *yays*

check this out: blog entry fron punan.info website

final count :
  • 7 boxes of clothes has been sent to sarawak and on the way to the punan bah longhouse
  • 11 boxes has been donated to the Red Cresent Society that has a Donate and Sell shop. They will sell the items and all proceeds will go towards the humanitarian assistance of the Malaysian Red Crescent
  • 2 boxes will be donated to a local orang asli village at Kampung Jantung Baru, Simplang Pulai.
  • and another 2 boxes of toys and stationary will be donated to an orphange. Do you know of any orphanage that are in need of teddy bears and papers? Please let me know! thanks~

and.. that is more of less where our shit loads of stuff are going to ^^ finally its done, but mr tan said im gonna miss the mess and the mess of sorting out the mess.

and we got to found out that MAGIC really do happen for charity... Mr Joseph Goh from the freight forwarding company gave us a discount on the freight charges. And if that wasn't enough, he offered to to pick up the seven boxes. We (Mr Tan and Ms Janie) didn't want to bother him so we declined his offer. In the evening, he called again, and showed up in college with a truck. He picked up the seven boxes; that has saved us a trip to the airport. That's MAGICAL!

a word of gratitude to Mr TMC and Miss Janie for organizing this donation drive and helping us do our part in society. looks like not only did we managed to help the Punan Bah Lounghouse villagers, we also helped many other institutions in need and, help college people clean out their closet. Thank You soo much! and thank u all that helped...

i hope we get this do this again.

hugs and kisses~

Deed of the day

Thank you Zubair for inviting, and thank you Ms Woi and Ms Janie for organizing... Or else i wouldnt have the chance to play with the kids at Taman Megah Handicapped Home for kids, and i wouldnt have been able to learn of their innocence, sweetness, kindness, and intelligence...

Ms Woi with little girl

Ms Janie excited to be there~

honestly, i have seen that some of the handicapped children, even handicapped adults there for that matter have better morals than some of us...

at first sight, when i stepped in the home, the first wave of feelings that overcomes me is not "scared" or "pity" but actually, heartwarming..

my heart melted at their heart of pure,
and face of innocence,
as frowns break into a smile when they saw us;
my heart melted at the comradeship,
between friends of the home,
both disabled, but caring of each other; feeding each other, taking care of each other,
my heart melted at their sweetness,
as they smile, and hugs you,
not wanting to let go;
my heart melted at their joy;
as they enjoy the simplest of things,
like paper and crayon;
my heart melted with suprise,
when the kids exits from their schoolbus,
and greets us with friendly handshakes and happy "hellos";
alas my heart melted with sadness,
as they held on to the gate gars,
waving goodbye,
not wanting us to leave......

she is pretty...

it was a really fun and good experience, playing with the kids and just being there with them. Eventhough the initial plan of gathering them and introducing ourselves and playing sherades didnt materialize, this simple day of us halding their hands and do colourings with them was even better....

Sweetie pie of the day: Gosh, i absolutely positively just fell in love with this cutie!!! she was sulking and crying on the floor, rolling away everytime i went near.. but i managed to carry her up, hugged her and danced with her to very hip-hopish music..haha... when dancing time was over, she was to be whisk away for lunch she hung on to the floor beside me, not wanting to ate or leave, until i fed her... GOSH, feeding her was soooo rewarding... i really really UUHHH miss her!!! ish... i want to dance with her again > <>

we danced, we fed, we coloured, we had a great time.... Do hope to revisit them ! * crosses fingers*
hugs n kisses to them all~
